Francisco Salazar, 78, passed away in El Paso on Friday, March 16, 2012. Born May 12, 1933 in El Paso, Texas, Francisco lived in El Paso, graduated from Bowie High School, attended UTEP, and enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, and was a disabled veteran. He worked for civil service as an Administrator at White Sands Missile Range until retiring in 1980. Francisco was a member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Survivors include wife, Maria Elena Salazar, son, Frank David Salazar, Daughters, Priscilla Ann Vega, Lisa Ann Wynn and Suzanne Salazar, Grandchildren Allison Vega, Chase Salazar, Amanda Vega, Aaron Vega and Lydia Wynn. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 pm on March 21, 2012 at St. Patrick‘s Cathedral, 1118 North Mesa St. Burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. at 1:30 pm A special thanks to all the staff for their wonderful care and treatment at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home.
