Francisco Perez was called home by our Lord on October 21, 2022. Quico or Güero, as he was known, was born on April 20, 1930, to his loving parents; Rumaldo and Maxima Perez who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Arturo Perez, Jose R. Perez, Ramon A. Perez, and Rumaldo Perez, Jr., sisters; Margarita Candelaria, Guillermina Marquez, and Raquel Sanchez and survived by his sisters; Romelia Apodaca (Juan), Honorina Perez, Carmen Muñoz (Ambrosio), and Dolores Montelongo (Jose). Quico served his country proudly in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. "Grandpa Quico", as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren, is preceded in death by Maria Piedad Perez, his wife of 61 years. Quico is also survived by his children; Francisco "Frankie" Perez, Jr. (Lucy), Ruben Perez, Barbara Perez-Peña, Rose Mary Carreon (Santos, III) and Victor Perez (Cecilia). Quico was always surrounded by his grandchildren; Armando Peña, Jr. (Crystal), Melisa F. Perez-Villegas (Isaac), Teresia A. Carreon-Sandoval (Jairo), Santos E. Carreon, IV, Paulette V. Perez, Francisco G. Carreon, Andrew Peña, Isabela F. Perez, Emilia L. Perez, and great grandchildren; Aurora M. Sandoval, Jairo Sandoval, Jr., Aiden Villegas, Emma Villegas, and Jayden Villegas. Serving as pallbearers will be Francisco Perez, Jr., Ruben Perez, Victor Perez, Santos E. Carreon, IV, Francisco G. Carreon, Andrew Peña, Santos E. Carreon, III, Isaac Villegas, and Jairo Sandoval, honorary pallbearer; Armando Peña, Jr. Quico was an exemplary husband, loving father, doting grandfather and great-grandfather, and loyal friend. His life was a wonderful example of faith, humility, compassion, and love. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. with a Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 12:30 p.m. at La Purisima Catholic Church (Socorro Mission). Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
