Frances Diana Loiacono Kokinis passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Fran was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where she attended Tuley High School and worked as an executive secretary. On October 11, 1964, she married the love of her life, John Nickolas Kokinis. In 1976, they decided to follow in the footsteps of other family members and moved to El Paso, TX. For a brief time, Fran was again employed before joining John in retirement. They thoroughly enjoyed traveling throughout the Southwest and especially liked Las Vegas where they would vacation with John’s sister, Koula. Fran and John become enthusiastic, competitive bowlers for several years and Fran also served as a league secretary. She had a forever young attitude, a loving and kind heart, and a perky personality to compliment her wonderfully mischievous smile that she shared with everyone around her. Today, our world shines a little less brightly, and though Fran will be dearly missed by her family and friends, she is at peace, and once again, united with her “Johnny.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Pauline Loiacono and John, her husband of 42 years. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Loiacono of El Paso, Texas, her sister, Arlene Spiegel of Flower Mound, TX, her sister-in-law, Koula Loukas of Barrington, IL, cousin Kenneth Nega of Hudson, FL, niece Gina Loiacono Durney of Austin, TX and Claudette Johnson of Palatine, IL, Maralyne Stanczyaks of Pittsburgh PA, Kathie Tronson of Chicago, IL and nephew Anthony Loiacono of San Diego, CA. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chapel of Peace. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler, El Paso, Texas 79912.
