Frances A. Heidt, 102, passed away on April 12, 2017.
Frances was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, New York on September 14th, 1914. Frances graduated from Julia Roberts High School in New York. She worked as a secretary in various businesses in Manhattan including Lord and Taylor and The National Lead Company during WWII. Frances would later marry the love of her life, Edmund H. Heidt. They eventually settled in Pennsylvania where she was a homemaker, which included raising her only son, Roger E. Heidt. Francis lost her husband, Edmund, in 1981 and moved to Florida to enjoy retirement and beautiful weather. In the 1990s, Frances made El Paso home to be close to her son and grandchildren.
Frances loved to cook and had a love for animals. She enjoyed traveling and shopping (especially QVC). Frances worked as a hospital volunteer for many years in Pennsylvania and Florida and enjoyed volunteer work at the Discovery Shop in El Paso, Texas.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Anna Schiefer, brother William Schiefer, and husband Edmund H. Heidt. She leaves behind her son Roger (Mary); Grandchildren Darrick (Leanna), Sarah Sanchez (Ezekiel), and Erin Makowski (Gregory); and six great grandchildren, Diana, Adrian, Elijah, Alice, Margaret, and Ezra.
A visitation at 5:00 P.M. followed by a rosary at 6:00 P.M. will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19th at 12 P.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9025 Diana Drive. A private burial will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
