Donald Joseph Adamski, OFM Conv., 73, of El Paso, TX, was escorted by Sister Death on March 28, 2022. He was born to parents and , on September 17, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI.
After graduating from the minor seminary at Mount St. Francis, he entered the Conventual Franciscan novitiate in 1966. He professed Simple Vows on July 15, 1967 and Solemn Vows on . He was ordained a priest on May 24, 1975.
Donald worked as a Pastor for most of his priestly life. These pastoral assignments included such places as Milwaukee, WI; Chicago Heights, IL; Malaga, Loving, Carlsbad, Hobbs, and Tortugas in New Mexico; and El Paso, TX. He also served as the Catholic Chaplain for Mesilla Valley Hospice from 2009 until 2014 where he returned to El Paso to become associate pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. He was assigned to Our Lady of the Valley as pastor in 2018, and remained there until his death.
Donald is survived by his sister Carol A. Bricker, his brother David M. Adamski and his sister Diane Kent. Along with nieces and nephews, he is also survived by his Franciscan Family, the friars from Our Lady of Consolation Province.
The family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home - Americas with the arrangements. The viewing and Wake Service will be held at Our Lady of the Valley from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 . The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Hall. His final services will be held at the Chapel at Mount St. Francis with the Wake Service and the funeral liturgy; dates and times are pending.
