Forrest Breckenridge Rich Jr, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on September 28, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer.
Forrest was born September 16, 1960, in Durango, Mexico. Forrest cherished his memories of growing up in the mountains of Las Truchas. His mother moved the family to El Paso, Texas to ensure a better education for her children. Forrest attended Coronado High School where he excelled on the football field as a running back. This is where he met his lifelong mentor, Coach Don Brooks. Forrest graduated from UTEP with a degree in English. He returned to his alma mater, Coronado High where he taught and coached football for 25 years. He was incredibly honored to coach alongside Coach Brooks. His passions were teaching students with special needs, sharing his love of football and all things T-bird-related, traveling, and spending time with family and his numerous friends. He was most proud of his two beautiful daughters, and he absolutely relished being a “Girl Dad.” His incredible love and devotion for his daughters was beautiful to see. Forrest lived life to its fullest everyday, sharing his contagious smile with everyone he met.
He is survived by his daughters, Hannah Sophia and Hope Dianne, his partner Heidi Aragon, his mother Esperanza Espinoza, sister Norma Rich Juarez and brother Alex Rich.
The family is grateful to the staff of Mariah House for providing Forrest with loving and dignified care.
The family would also like to thank Charles “Chuck” Loper for representing and standing by Forrest with strength and compassion. He is a true Best Friend.
