Florence Pemberton Propst, 85, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2007. She was born in Wisner, Nebraska, and is survived by her brother, Jack Pemberton of Kiowa, Colorado. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert and Lucy Pemberton; her husband, Major Clifford Herman Propst; and her daughter, Sharon Lynn Clifton. Mrs. Propst served in the U.S. Army Women’s Auxiliary Corp during World War II, graduated from Texas Western College, taught a Parkland Elementary School, volunteered for the American Red Cross, and was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church. She will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Karen Boozer and Tracey Petersen; her sons-in-law, Edward Clifton, Mark Petersen, and John David Hernandez; her grandchildren, Victor Cory Boozer, Kelly Michelle Hernandez, Melissa Lea Tully, Elaine Lee Clifton, and Hope Lynn Petersen; her great grandchildren, John Drew, Ritchie, John Cameron, Nicholas Cory, Savannah Isabella, and Phoebe Anne Constance; and her nieces, Jean Ann Siecke, Lucy Behan, and Shelley Buterbaugh. A Memorial Service in celebration of the life of Mrs. Propst will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 9210 Dyer. Her Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Presbyterian Church Food Cupboard or the El Paso Chapter of the American Red Cross. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
