Florence Beatrice Cascio

Florence (Mammaw) Cascio, 92 and a longtime resident of El Paso, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 15, 2013. Born in Houston, TX on May 2, 1920 to Tom and Maude Buys. Florence worked for Western Union in Houston many years until she married Jake Cascio in 1951. She then kept the books for their ranch and horse racing business. She was a member of Western Hills United Methodist and The Ridge Church, the WHUMC bible study group, and the Upper Valley Lions Club. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake Cascio and her daughter Pat Jay. She is survived by her children Karen Grampp of Stillwater, OK, Lucy Thompson of Houston, TX, and C.W. “Bubba” Cascio of Tolar, TX; son-in-law Tommy Jay of Midland, TX; Grandchildren Sandy Evans, Valeria Coleman, Rhonda Curtis, Tom Jay Jr., Erica Lightfoot, Marty Orlando, Jody Cascio and Will Cascio; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nephew Richard Norris; and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5-9 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 12:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-West.
