Fernando Jose Orrantia

Fernando J. Orrantia "Fernie/Nando" was born on December 31, 1929 in Juarez, Mexico to the late Juan L. and Gonzala J. Orrantia. He passed on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 he closed his eyes and went home to be with God. Mr. Orrantia served proudly in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He worked with Gunning Casteel Drugstore for 35 years and the Ysleta ISD for 14 years. Mr. Orrantia is preceded in death by his siblings: Roberto, Dora, Berta and survived by Rosa Maria, and Ricardo. He is preceded in death by his sons Fernando and Ruben. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Dolores; sons: Juan, Hernando, Gerardo; grandchildren: Gerardo Jr., MarcoAntonio, Renée, Sara, Fernando, and Francesca; and a host of aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the N. Carolina location of Sunset Funeral Homes. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
