Fernando Correa

Fernando Correa was called to his eternal home on January 16, 2022. He was born in San Elizario, Texas on July 14, 1938, to Saturnino and Rosario Correa. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Liborio, Guillermo, and Modesto. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Maria Elena Correa, daughter Diana McInnes, stepdaughter Diana Garcia, brothers Delfino and Ramon, sisters Dolores Hernandez and Mary Gonzalez, and numerous nephews whom he taught to ride motorcycles and even inspired some to also join him in law enforcement. He gifted his nieces with a trip to Chicago upon graduation. He enjoyed a career in law enforcement in Chicago, Illinois where he received numerous commendations and awards. He was promoted to detective and later ended up working with the DEA. He enjoyed traveling, visiting museums, and attending various plays and Broadway shows. Upon retirement he returned to El Paso, Texas where he was embraced by his loving family. He was an avid reader and would devour a book a day. May he rest in peace. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Rosary at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina.
