Felicitas, “Alice” Flores, went home to her Lord and Blessed Mother Mary, on the morning of Tuesday, July 28th, 2020. She was born in El Paso, Texas on July 10th, 1942. At the age of 14, she had the opportunity to attend her high school years in the beautiful city of Green Bay, Wisconsin at Our Lady of Charity. The years there would forever hold a special place in her heart, so much so, that during football season, when the Dallas Cowboys would play the Greenbay Packers, she would proudly don her “Cheesehead” gear and Packer colors to cheer on her team. After her return to El Paso, during the summer of 1962, she met the love of her life, Ismael “Bob” Flores. They would eventually marry, and share the next 53 years together, building a family of love and faith. Over the years, Alice worked for Kress, Courtesy Chevrolet and Century 21 Real Estate. However, it would be 24 wonderful years, until her retirement, that she would proudly work for the Special Education Department in the Ysleta Independent School District. No matter where she worked, she would foster many cherished and enduring friendships that would last throughout her lifetime.
Felicitas was a devoted follower of the Lord and of her Catholic faith. She took great pride in sharing the teachings of the Catholic church to anyone in her presence. Her biggest smiles and loudest laughter, however, could be seen and heard while spending time with the jewels of her crown, her grandchildren. Chase, Maximo, Carlitos and Valentina were the truest apples of her eye. The look on her face was a blessed sight to see, with every moment she spent amongst them. As her children, our mother was the very definition of maternal protection, life-long teacher and evangelist; as her children we were abundantly blessed to receive these gifts. These gifts will continue to flourish in our own children. As a loving wife, there were no mountains high enough, nor valleys too deep, that she would not conquer to ensure that her mate would always know the depths of her love and commitment. As was recently said of her, she was a grand lady of true substance.
Felicitas was proceeded in death, by her mother, Olaya Loya, father Alfredo Rede, and beloved sister Benita Rita Rede. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ismael “Bob” Flores, daughter Penelope “Penny” Flores, son Robert MAX Flores, (Sonia Enriquez-Flores), 4 grandchildren, Chase Osuna, Roberto Maximino, Carlos Esteban and Valentina Flores. Beloved sisters Oly Perches, (Tom Perches), and Beatriz Rede Calderon, (Johnny Calderon). Beloved brothers Lorenzo Rede, (Isabel Rede) and Oscar Rede, (Irene Rede). Cherished brother-in-law, Danny Flores, (Rose Flores), and sister-in-law, Gloria Flores Ibarra, (Nacho Ibarra). Beloved nieces, Jennifer Perches, Veronica Knight, Angela Rede, Kenda Spiker, Kyla Grant, Andrea Tharel, and Alexis Flores Rodriguez. Nephews Jose Sanchez, Charles Sanchez, (deceased), Ruben Perez, John Fred Rede, Sylvester Rede, Raphael Rede (deceased), and Dimitri Rede.
Dearest wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, rest in God’s grace, in peace.
