Mr. Faustino Mares Ortiz, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2010 with his family by his side. He is survived by his sisters Teresa Mares Romero and Juana Mares and brothers Ramon Mares Ortiz and Jose Antonio Mares Ortiz from Torreon Mexico. He is also survived by his wife of 55 years, Teresa De La Rosa Mares, and family: daughter Guadalupe and Eddie Soto, sons; Faustino Jr and Mary G Mares, Angel and Graciela Mares, Antonio and Soñia Mares, Arturo and Pat Mares, Enrique and Patricia I. Mares, and Miguel Mares. Mr. Mares had 20 grand children and 14 great grandchildren. He was born in Durango Mexico in December of 1933. He later married and he began his life in El Paso. Mr. Mares worked as a professional photographer since his early twenties and in later years he worked in construction. He was a very hard worker and he was always willing to help his family members. We love him very much and he will always be in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers: Faustino Mares Jr., Angel Mares, Antonio Mares, Arturo Mares, Enrique Mares, Eddie Soto, Miguel Mares, Steven Valenzuela, Monica Mares, Antonio Mares Jr., Arturo Mares Jr., Enrique Mares Jr, Jesus F. Soto, Miguel Angel Mares. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
