Ezola Marie DeRouen

September 20, 1925 — May 6, 2012

Ezola Marie “Cot” DeRouen passed peacefully to God’s Kingdom on May 6, 2012 after a lifetime of service to her family, friends, and church. Ezola was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church for over 45 years, where she taught catechism, was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and attended weekly service. She also taught CCD at Blessed Sacrament Church, overseas and in Louisiana. Before her retirement, she served the students of EPISD as a cook and was a bindery supervisor at The Printing Corner. Her loving nature and lively sense of humor earned her countless lifelong friends. Ezola dedicated her life to her children and to being an example of God’s love to all. She enjoyed waltzing, laughing, Cajun music, and playing cards with family. She is preceded in death by her husband Edmund; her brothers Raymond Menard of Lake Charles LA, Joe Menard of Coteau LA, Stanley Menard of Coteau LA, Henry Menard of Lake Charles LA, Horace Menard of New Iberia LA, Eloi Junior Menard of Coteau LA, Lawrence Menard of Youngsville LA, Nolan Menard of Sulfur LA, and her sisters Denise Bijeaux of Youngsville LA and Frances Trahan of Lake Charles LA. She is survived by her three children, Rocklyn Edmund DeRouen of Midland TX, Rebecca Ruth DeRouen Gill of El Paso TX, and Dana Anthony DeRouen of El Paso TX; her sister Mabel Romero of Youngsville, LA; her grandchildren Chris and Jessica DeRouen, Aaron Hildebrand, Michele and Nicole DeRouen; her great grandchildren Zachary and Austin DeRouen; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. We rejoice for her family in Heaven who will once again be blessed with her love, laughter, and warmth. Those left behind are glad that she may once again waltz with her brothers. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7pm, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:15am, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
