Evangelina Hernandez

Evangelina Hernandez passed away peacefully in her El Paso, TX home on August 16^th, 2023, only a week after her 90^th birthday. She lived a long, full life and filled our hearts with many memories of her gregarious nature, love for mariachi music and her many adventures.

Born on August 9, 1933 to Macario and Delfina Hernandez, both preceding her in death, Eva lived an ordinary life, extraordinarily. A fiercely independent woman, she charmed every room with her coquettish smile, confidence and a strong sense of self. She’ll also be remembered for her creativity, often spending time painting ceramics, crafting and sewing. A talented cook, she made the best tamales, even making them during the last Christmas of her life. 

Eva is survived by her daughter Sylvia (Jose) Ramirez, Eva (Wayne) Wilkes and Maria Lourdes Hernandez, grandchildren April (Jason) Sherman, Jacqueline Ramirez, Darrell Wilkes Jr. and Christopher Briones, and four great grandchildren.
