Eva C. Montes

Eva Chavira Montes passed away peacefully on January 31, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on January 5, 1921 to the late Manuel and Carolina Chavira of El Paso, TX. Eva lived the majority of her life in El Paso, TX as well as spending several years in Oakland, CA. Eva enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Cristobal, her sisters Aurora, Margarita and Elvira, her brothers Manuel and Adan and her son Danny. She is survived by her sisters Olga, Enriqueta, Carolina, and Anita, her sons Art, Ernesto and Frank and 13 grandchildren: David, Tony, Ernie Jr., Arlene, Marlene, Yolanda, Danny Jr., Carmen, Tobais, Ruben, Mercedes, Frank, Jessica and 7 great grandchildren. Eva lived a long and fulfilling life and will be greatly missed by many. Visitation: 4-9 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 with a Vigil at 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass: 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Santa Lucia Catholic Church, burial to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
