Eva Else Amalia Long

April 25, 1927 — July 18, 2008

Eva “Eve” Else Amalia Long was born in Berlin , Germany , on April 25, 1927 to Ferdinand and Gertrude Hatvani and went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert Daniel, on July 18, 2008 . She is survived by her daughters, Carol LeBlanc and Deborah Dominic, three grandchildren, Shannon McKeever, William Burgess Jr., Robert Burgess, one great grandson, Damien, and her dear friend, Erasmo “Sonny” Espinosa. Eve graduated from the University of Music in Berlin and her gift of music touched so many lives in the years to come as she played for congregations as church organist, as a devoted music teacher, and as a USO entertainer for troops all over the world. For over 20 years, Eve shared her many talents as Director of the Ft. Bliss Pre-School/Kindergarten prior to becoming the Pre-School/Kindergarten Director for the YWCA in El Paso . Retirement only brought more opportunity for her to express her love for and devotion to her adopted country and she spent the next 29 years volunteering for the Red Cross at William Beaumont Army Medical Center . The Dallas Cowboys have lost one of their most devoted fans and Eve will be missed by everyone who was honored to share her life. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5001 Fred Wilson, Fort Bliss, TX. A celebration of her life will be held at her home directly following the service. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any local animal shelter to help the four-legged friends she loved so much or to any local Red Cross Chapter. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
