Eugenio (Geno) Delgado, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, on November 15, 1929, the second youngest of nine children. He spent his youth in Puerto Rico before joining the U.S. Army at a young age. He made a career of the military, traveled the United States and the world, serving two tours in Korea.
He later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at UTEP after retiring from the military. He was active in the Lion’s Club for over fifty years, and served his community and church in various volunteer organizations. Baseball was one of his true passions. His grandchildren were also his treasure.
He married Alba in 1955, they had three children, Mayra, Harry, and Eric.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his son, Harry Delgado.
Geno is survived by his wife Alba, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Dr. Committal Service to follow at 1:30pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.
