Eugene Jackson, Sr., age 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
Eugene was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 21, 1940 to Eula Bell Jackson. He joined the military after High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Eugene would later marry the love of his life in 1962, Margueritte. He was known as a man of few words, deep thoughts, and extremely competent solutions when solving issues. Patients, calm, and competence were his sword, shield, and cape in life (He was a good practical jokester and loved to make people laugh).
Eugene worked in Civil Service after serving over 24 honorable years in the military and received his second retirement. He loved fishing and could proudly say he has fished all over the world while exposing his family to his favorite hobby.
Eugene was preceded in death by his mother, and all siblings except Nadine Brown of Birmingham, Alabama and Johnny Cunningham Heath, Ohio.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 beautiful years, daughters Sherry Renee Lampkins, Lisa Monique Jackson, and Sheila Antoinette Jackson and son Eugene Jackson Jr. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 5pm – 9pm at Sunset Funeral Home – 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, Texas 79904. Funeral Service will be held for Eugene in the same location as above the following day Monday, December 19, 2016 from 12pm – 1pm. Burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
