Esther C. Navarro

1927-2012 Esther (Neca) Curiel Navarro, 84, has gone to rest in eternal peace with our Lord. She passed peacefully on Monday April 30, 2012 with loved ones by her side. Esther is survived by the love of her life, husband, Roberto T. Navarro. They would have been married 67 years this October. Loving mother to her children Margarita Becerra, Bertha Delora, Blanca Dominguez, Lourdes and husband Michael Antoine, and Luis C. Navarro. Cherished sister to siblings Luis Curiel, Miguel Casillas, Victor Casillas, Felipe Curiel, Enriqueta Curiel and Teresa Curiel. Adored grandmother to grandchildren Cynthia Curiel, Rachel Sandell, Francisco Becerra, Becky and Angela Delora, Bobby, Rene, and Diana Dominguez and several great grandchildren. She is the daughter of Luis Casillas Curiel and Esther Garcia Curiel. A lifelong resident of El Paso, TX. Esther dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her for her wit, humor and generosity. She was an avid knitter and loved making gifts for her loved ones. Esther was passionate about standing up for what she believed which led her to be actively involved in political campaigning alongside her husband. Esther’s life counted in more ways than can be expressed and she will be greatly missed. Friends are invited to the Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina for viewing on Thursday May 3 from 4 – 9 pm. Rosary begins at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at San Antonio Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr. on Friday May 4 at 10:30 am, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East .
