Esther Lopez

Esther Sofia Lopez, age 72, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, graduating from Ysleta High School in 1966. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and a source of support and strength for multiple generations of family and friends. Her playful sense of humor and overall comforting presence will be greatly missed, but her kindness, generosity and strength of spirit will live on in those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband Agustin Lopez Jr, parents Andres and Maria Garcia, and brother Jose Garcia, and is survived by her daughter Corinne, son and daughter-in-law Agustin and Tanya, son and daughter-in-law Jorge and Jessica, grandchildren Kevin, Alexis, Serena, Diego, Tristan and Jacob, brother Andres Garcia, and sisters Lydia Garcia, Yolanda Duran and Cynthia Garcia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, at Sunset Funeral Home - Americas, with a Rosary at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, only a limited number of family members will be allowed at the graveside. Pallbearers will be Agustin Lopez III and Kevin Christopher Lopez.
