Esther Kishk passed away peacefully on March 06, 2024 at 6:05am, after 98 years.
She was born January 17, 1926 to Meyer and Lillian Shabot.
Esther and Ike were pen pals from the time they were teenagers. She met him for the first time when she graduated high school and went to New York.
He had already enlisted in the army and their letter writing continued until he came back stateside.
Esther married the love of her life, Ike on August 18, 1945. They had 4 children: Beckie (late Alvin), Bob, Linda (Nat), and Diane (David).
Esther and Ike came to El Paso from Houston in 1963, where she lovingly ran their home. For all that were ever in her home, she was second to none in her family's eyes.
After Ike passed away in 2008, she lived in her home until 2014 when she moved to independent living at Monte Vista. She made friends and enjoyed the activities, especially bingo until she could no longer live alone.
She was always proud of her children and their accomplishments. She raised her children to be strong, independent, disciplined, self-reliant and accomplished.
She is predeceased by her parents, and her siblings: Rena Marcus and Sam Shabot.
She leaves behind her grandchildren: Morris Cohen, Amy Ades, Isaac Cohen, Ben Holzer, Esther Holzer, Isaac Kishk, Michael Naggar, sixteen great-grandchildren as well as one great-great grandchild.
We want to thank her devoted caregivers, Susana Jimenez and Virginia Castro who tirelessly loved and took care of her.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Chabad of Lubavitch of El Paso.
