Esther Cartagena

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother Esther Cartagena passed away peacefully in her home on July 21, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband Cruz Cartagena.

Esther was a kind, loving, generous, and selfless woman. She always put others before her and truly followed the word of the Lord and his teachings.  Because of the way she lived her life her loved ones know that she is now with our Lord.

She is survived by her children: Gil (Loren), Sophia, and Eric (Emily) grandchildren: Violette, Livy, Caroline, Kristen, Serina, Elise, Zarek, and Tavek.  Great grandchildren: Freyja, Madeline, JR, Remy, and Reese.  Her beloved caregivers Olga Garza and Lorena Hernandez.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive.  Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 4805 Byron Street.  Committal Service to follow Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
