Estella Vega

Estella Duran Vega passed away on the 25th of June 2012, 97 years old, at Nazareth Hall Nursing Home where she resided for the past nine years. Beloved wife of Fidencio Vega, married 28th July, 1946, Guardian Angel Church. Estella attended various schools but her happiest accomplishment was graduating in 1975 from EPCC with an RN degree at the age of 63. Estella's first job as a young woman was taking care of young children. The first one she took care of was Dr. Nickey, future EP county medical examiner, when he was 3 years old. Her next job was in Civil Service during WW II. Estella was an active parishioner at Guardian Angel Church and all four of her children graduated from Guardian Angel School. In the late 1980's, Estella moved and became active at St. Pius church where she loved being part of the team that cleaned the church. Estella and Fidencio had four children, Jose(Joe), Alfredo(Tony), Dolores and Frank. Pallbearers, David Jones, Anthony, Frank, Mike, and John Vega, Christopher and James Bernard. Many thanks to Nazareth Nursing Home for their great care given our mother. We love you 'ama. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday June 28, 2012 with a vigil at 6 pm at Nazareth Hall Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 am Friday, June 29, 2012 at Nazareth Hall Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
