Estefana Avila

Estefana Avila, 95, was born in Topeka, Kansas on January 2, 1917 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 17, 2012. Estefana was a loving homemaker and a longtime resident of El Paso, Tx. Estefana is preceded in death by her loving husband Tereso Avila, her son, Jesus M. Avila, and her daughter, Francisca Avila. She is survived by her nine children, Sons; Tereso (Sally), Andres (Irma), Dario (Amalia), Lorenzo (Rosa), Ricardo and Jose E. ( Elvia); daughters, Maria R. Sanchez, Guadalupe Villagran, and Dora L. Avila ( Javier), brothers; Manuel and Francisco, sister; Maria de Jesus, 23 grandchildren, 31 great grand children. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, located at 9521 North Loop Dr. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church, located at 210 S. Clark. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be her grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Nazareth Hall Nursing Center for all their support and help. Estefana will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
