Esteban Gerardo

Esteban “Jerry” Gerardo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13^th, 2022, at the age of 86 in his hometown of El Paso, TX. He was born to Pedro and Faustina Gerardo and was the youngest of four siblings. The stories of his beloved Smeltertown are memories that will always live in his and our hearts. Esteban was a humble and hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family. He was as tough as nails but had a huge heart and loved his family dearly. Our dad lived life his way. He proudly served in the Navy, all while enjoying his passion for golf. Esteban came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. We will continue to honor his legacy by loving life the way he did.

“Dad, your passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts that can never be filled. We are heartbroken, yet we are at peace knowing that you are in the hands of God alongside other family members who left before you. Nothing in this life will ever be the same, especially hearing your jokes or finishing every birthday song with, “and many more”. Thank you for raising us, thank you for loving us, and thank you for being you. You left too soon… we love you, Dad.

Esteban is survived by his wife of 47 years Irma Gerardo; children Francisco, Isela, Monica, Esteban, Eduardo, Anita, son-in-law Arturo, and 3 granddaughters, Bianca, Elisa, and Elisabeth.

Visitation 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with a Vigil/Rosary at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 21, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM at St. Pius X Cathholic Church, 1050 N. Clark. Committal Service will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
