Esperanza "Espy" Irene Montes

Esperanza “Espy” Irene Montes passed away on November 18, 2011 after fighting a long illness. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1968. She worked several years at Thomason, Texas Tech and Sierra Medical Hospital before she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents Marcos and Consuelo Montes, her brother Marcos Montes, Jr., and sister Lucilla Gallegos. She is survived by her longtime companion, Tony Luna. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers; Estela Delgado, Rose Marie Gallardo, Angie Lara, Jenny De La Paz, Terry Chavez, Robert Montes, and Marcos Montes, several nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to several of us and will be sorely missed. Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever“. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at San Juan Bautista Church. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
