Ernesto Barrios

Ernesto Barrios Sr., 84, passed away on September 24, 2007 He was born on March 4, 1923 in El Paso, Texas. He served in WWII with the U.S. Army. During his tour he received the American Theater and Victory Medal. He retired from Merchants Truck Lines. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Barrios was preceded in death by his son Ernesto Barrios Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rosa, son; Armando Barrios (Dolores), daughters; Velia Lucero (Gilbert), Dora Munoz (Baltazar), Helen Zamorano (Joe), Esther Candelaria (Larry), Lucy Campos (Xavier), Gloria Ash (Robert), sister; Guadalupe Flores, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2007 with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. At Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 N. Loop Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 am., on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church (Delta). Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
