Ernestina Ontiveros

Ernestina "Titina" Ontiveros 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 25, 2023.

She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Tx and a member of the Catholic church. She was a proud graduate of Bowie H.S. and worked in retail for several years.  She worked at Kress Drug store where she met, and would later go on to marry her husband Manuel Ontiveros.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Manny "Pelon" Ontiveros, her parents Pedro and Celia Saavedra and sisters Esther Mena, Carlotta DeSantiago, Elena Valdez and Margarita Cervantes. Brothers Carlos, Pedro Jr, Roque, Guillermo and Sonny Saavedra.

It was almost impossible to reach Titina by phone because she was always outdoors in her yard. Titina loved to work in her garden with her devoted pups by her side. Although Titina never had children of her own, there wasn't a kid in the family that she didn't have a hand in raising. That's how she became "Titina" (Tia Tina). We are all blessed to have had such a wonderful Tia.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; most of whom are also her God-children.

A special note of gratitude to Luz Del Carmen, Millie, Victor, Toto and Magdalene for providing loving care and companionship for her. We will all miss our Titina tremendously.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 07, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, March 08, 2023 at St Ignatius of Loyola Parish-408 Park St . Interment will follow Mass at Ft Bliss National Cemetery.
