Ernestina G. Gardea, 97. Ernestina is preceded in death by her husband Salomon Gardea, and their daughter Ernestina Gardea. Ernestina Gardea passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on February 1, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was a devoted Catholic, well-grounded in her faith. She was well loved and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. She enjoyed life to the fullest being an outgoing person. Ernestina is survived by daughter Leonor Chavez; son-in-law: Cesar Chavez; grandson: Abraham Chavez (Patricia Chavez); granddaughter: Laura Chavez; grandson: Sammy Chavez; son: Jesus Jose Gardea; daughter-in-law: Maria Esther Gardea; granddaughter: Tina Gardea and Amy Alvarez (Ralph Alvarez); grandson: Solomon Gardea, great-grandson: Ralph Alvarez Jr.; daughter: Maria Guadalupe Gardea; son: David Anthony Nevarez; daughters: Jacqueline Yvette Nevarez and Jennifer Noel Ready (John Ready) and son: Trace Ready. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-East located at 750 N. Carolina. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 1050 N. Clark. Interment will be at Restlawn Cemetery located at 8700 Dyer. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
