Ernest M. Panatex, Jr, 77, born December 18, 1933 in San Antonio, TX passed away December 7, 2011 in El Paso, TX. He proudly served in the Army for 20 years with 2 tours in Germany, 1 in Korea and 1 in Vietnam. He was awarded numerous medals and accommodations. After retirement from the Army he continued working for the Civil Service for a combined total of 53 years of service to our Country. He loved fishing, camping, boating and was an avid gold prospector. He loved taking his family with him wherever he went. He will be missed by his wife and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Severina Panatex and sisters: Angie and Orlanda. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elva; sons: Eddie (Rhonda), Ernest, and Michael; daughter, Yolanda Sanchez; brothers: Santiago (Olga) and Robert; sisters: Blanch, Lillie, Tina, Gloria (Vando), and Micky; grandchildren: Sammy, Suzanna, Adrian, David, Veronica, Cynthia, Michelle, Carlos, Tristan, Savannah and Rachel; 5 great grandchildren. Special Thanks to our grandchildren who cared for grandpa out of love and respect during his illness: April (Uli), Allison (O.J.), Alli Rhae, Anthony, and Ashley “Who’s my baby”; very special thanks to Don, Nancy and Josie during this time. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7pm, Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10am, Friday, December 9, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
