Ernest Lancer Hogue, 87, of El Paso TX passed Christmas Eve '09 at home from lung cancer. Born 2/22/22 in Dunbar WV to Russell and Mary (Brown), married Argentina (DeSimone) on 9/3/49, made Indianapolis home in 1950, and El Paso in 1970. Toolmaker by trade, adventurer by heart. Ernie was an ocean loving free spirit, taking many vacations on the Sea of Cortez, culminating in his round-the-world attempt in his hand-built 20 ft Canoe Wagon. Interests included building two of his homes, frugal living, reading, dancing and croquet. Survived by long time loving partner Krystyna Post, daughters Sylvia Noonan and Ann Green, sons Steven and Mark, sisters Violet Gallagher, Bonnie Pugh, Barbara Lejewski, and Carol Beiner, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by wife Argie, brother Denver, sister Zelda Maple, and grandchild Aaron Hogue. Visitation from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Funeral Service at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Procession from Funeral Home to Evergreen East at 11:15 am on Tuesday. December 29, 2009. Interment: Evergreen East Cemetery. Facebook tribute forever.
