Eric Donald Borg

Eric D Borg, 65, joined OUR LORD and SAVIOR and the rest of his heavenly family after passing away in El Paso,Texas on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Eric was born in New York state on February 11, 1956. He moved at an early age to El Paso, and remained there until he graduated from Burges High School in 1974. He then joined the Navy to proudly serve his country. He obtained an Associates Degree from El Paso Community College and later attended classes at Bangor Community College in Maine. Eric loved travel, hiking, and the great outdoors. He did numerous cross-country trips throughout the United States and Canada, as well as working a few summers in the Grand Tetons, Mt Rainier, and Gettysburg National Parks. He knew people from "coast-to-coast". He was especially fond of his time spent in Maine and the friendships he enjoyed during his time there. Eric had a soft spot in his heart for the less fortunate and would give the shirt off his back if he thought it would help. His other great love was his fondness for animals. He never met a dog that he didn't love. Eric is preceded in death by his father, Glenn and nephews, Jackson and Andy. He leaves behind his mother, Nydia, his siblings Kevin (Dallas) and Liz (Denver), his sister-in-law Cindy (Dallas), brother-in-law Jeff (Denver), as well as numerous cousins who will all miss him immensely. We would like to THANK all the loving angels who helped with Eric's care these past few years--the people with Home Instead, his nursing staff, as well as Grandview Home Health. You are so much appreciated! Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM with Military Honors at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina.
