Enriqueta "Gloria" Hernandez

Enriqueta Hernandez-Palacios, known to family and friends as Gloria, was born January 27, 1947 and went to be with her parents Rafael and Maria Elena Hernandez on May 23, 2017. She leaves behind her husband Arturo Palacios, Jr., of 27 years and her children Diego, Raquel, Renaldo (Miriam), Enrique, and Norberto (Iris) Bowen; Raquel and Ruby Palacios, 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Maggie Padilla (Joe) and many cousins. Gloria was raised in EI Paso's Segundo Barrio and was a proud graduate from Bowie High School, Class of 1965; she retired from UTEP on January 2012. To my family I say, do not weep for me, I am not here. Feel me in wind that blows softly, the softly falling snow, the gentle rain. Hear me in the beautiful birds that sing in the trees. See me in the stars at night, in the flowers at daytime, I am all around you. Do not stand at my grave and cry, be happy for me I can breathe and dance to my heart's content. I am happy! Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
