Enedina Pitts

May 14, 1929 — July 29, 2008

Enedina Garcia Pitts went home to be with her Lord Monday July 29, 2008. Born May 14, 1929 in Tuxpán, Veracruz she married at a young age to Humberto Quiroz having two daughters Piedad and Alma Garcia Quiroz. After her then husband preceded her in death she moved to Mexico City then Juarez, Chihuahua with her two daughters. While working at a restaurant, she met Seaborn Pitts, an army soldier stationed at Fort Bliss, and they were married on December 4, 1963. Together they built their lives here in El Paso, Texas. Alma, her daughter, resided in the home till her marriage. Alma has two sons Rogelio Antonio and Roger Anthony Johnson. Both grandsons were the apple of her eye whom she took much delight in seeing grow up. Active in their upbringing, she was the only “Grandmother-Volunteer” in their elementary and middle school. She also cared deeply for the grandchildren from Piedad who are Cynthia, Cathy, Carol and Felicia, however she was preceded in death by Carol which brought her much sorrow. Her capacity to love well allowed her to pour into the life of Barbara Ramirez, a neighbor’s daughter whom she mentored in childhood and in life. Outside of her love for her family, some of Enedina’s pleasures in life include watching her plants grow; keeping up with local/national politics; visiting with neighbors, always in tune with the latest telenovelas, and above all, her love for Jesus Christ. Her tenacious fervent spirit always pursued doing good to others. One of her many mottos in life was be kind to a neighbor because you never know when a loved one will need kindness done to them by their neighbor. Beloved wife, matriarch mother and grandmother, wise mentor, she is missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2008 at 9:30 am, Community Baptist Church with interment at 11:00 am Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Flowers to be received by Sunset Funeral Home-East. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
