Loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Emma Balli, 82, a life long resident of El Paso passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008. She was born and raised in El Paso to Tomas and Agustina Perez-Mendoza. A devout Catholic, her faith led her to live her life following God’s examples with endless love and acceptance to her family and friends. She has always been known as the rock and strength by her family and will always remain so. In addition to her constant support, she had a sense of humor that has been passed down through each of the branches of her family tree, and for that she will be greatly missed. Emma is preceded in death by her husband Jose Angel, whom she was happily married to for 52 years, brothers Miguel and Leandro Mendoza. She is survived by her 12 children, Jose Angel (Esperanza), Agustina Lopez, Ana Maria, Juan (Catalina), Ricardo (Gloria), Ruben (Amy), Esteban (Millie), Thomas (Diana), Dolores, David (Norma), Hector, and Sylvia, 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Ernesto Mendoza, Teresa Mendoza, Dolores Avirez, Guadalupe Flores and Francisco Mendoza. Her family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Cota, Dr. Urrea, Dr. Thomas and Dr. Anchondo and the staff of Sierra Medical Center for their kindness and support. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast with a vigil/rosary to at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
