Emilie Blanchard

Emilie “Mina” Blanchard (May 28, 1940 – August 23, 2008) Emilie Blanchard went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008. She lived a full life of courage. She was born in Czechoslovakia, immigrated to Germany as a young child after her family home was taken away from the family at the end of World War II. She met her husband, Thomas Blanchard (1936-1997), in Germany, where they were married and she made the courageous journey to the United States with him to be an Army wife, a life she thoroughly enjoyed. After many different tours of duty, El Paso was chosen as their final home, where she has lived for the past 31 years. Emilie chose a career path late in life as a CNA and worked at Sierra Medical Center. She maintained many friendships based on her warm, compassionate and caring ways. Emilie will be missed by many of the lives she touched. She is survived by her three children, Mike Blanchard, Michele Acosta, both of El Paso, and Terri Clarke of Oakley, California, six grandchildren, Aaron Blanchard, Alison Blanchard, Nicole Ramos, Brandon Clarke, Jason Clarke and Marlee Rossi, as well as a great grandson, Ezra Clarke, and special friend, Charles Lindsay. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 26th, at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Susan B.
