ELVA ARANDA MELENDEZ was born in Shafter (Presidio County), Texas on November 21, 1932 to Feliciano and Leandra Aranda. DOLORES G. “LOLO” MELENDEZ, was born in Presidio, Texas on August 29, 1933 to Felix and Maria Melendez. They married in January 1954, and continued their beautiful love affair until December 31, 2012 when they passed away of natural causes, peacefully and together in their home. Lolo served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he returned to his loving wife. Within a year they were blessed with their first child, Christina, followed by sisters Sandra and Rosalie. Lolo worked for many years as a retail salesman. Elva was a nurturing homemaker and an outstanding cook. Elva and Lolo were together for over 60 years and their love was so strong and their bond so tight that they passed away within minutes of each other. We will love them and miss them forever. Lolo and Elva were preceded in death by their parents. Survivors: daughters Christina Lerma (husband Chris), Sandra De La O and Rosalie Tovar (husband Adrian), eight grandchildren: Jason and Lisa Lerma, Lauren Lerma Arnold (Nicholas), Robert (Johanna) and Phillip (Stephanie) De La O, Adrian, Adara and Alyssa Tovar and three great grandchildren: Benjamin, Matthew and Allison De La O. Elva is survived by brother Elias Aranda and sisters Belia Aranda, Eva Estrella, Manuela Garcia, Socorro Urquidi and Guadalupe Villarreal. Lolo is survived by brother Juan Melendez and sisters Sara Campos, Belsora Ramirez and Genoveva Hurado. Pallbearers: Chris and Jason Lerma, Robert and Phillip De La O, Adrian R. and Adrian C. Tovar, Nicholas Arnold, David Franco, Marcelo Franco, Alonso Ramirez, Armando Estrella, Raul Garcia and Ernesto Villarreal.
