Elva Eileen Gregory

Elva Eileen Gregory (83) was called home by our Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2007. We all find comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering. Born Elva Eileen Slatzer, in Orville, Ohio on July 27, 1923, she was the last surviving of 8 children. She married James E. Gregory (who preceded her in death in 2003) on January 10th, 1946 and, with their two children, remained in El Paso when her husband retired from the Air Force after being stationed at Biggs Air Field in El Paso. Elva retired from White Sands Missile Range after working for over 20 years as a legal stenographer in the U.S. Army’s Electronic Warfare Missile Division. She was a member of Bethel Temple – Assembly of God, and is survived by: her daughter, Maralyn Claire Ortiz; grandchildren, Eustacio and Jame Ortiz; nephews, Allen and Ben Slatzer, David Tooley; and nieces, Christine Mason and Avalea Russell. You have filled our lives with much love and happiness and will be in our hearts forever. You will be deeply missed by all of those who love you. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will begin at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
