Elva Luz Atilano, 73, was called to heaven on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
Elva was born in Parral, Chih. MX on December 24, 1949. She married Calixtro Atilano in April of 1970. She was a graduate of Bowie High School and Park University. Elva worked for Tony Lama and El Paso Community College as a supervisor and student loan financial aid coordinator and retired after 25 years of service.
Elva cherished spending time with her family, cooking, and making people laugh with her fun-loving spirit. She encouraged togetherness and taught the importance of family love.
Elva is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Calixtro Atilano, and her father Manuel Ramirez. She is survived by her children, James (Bonnie) Atilano, Gilbert (Mary) Atilano, Priscilla (Adam) Shelley, Anthony (Annabelle) Atilano and Stephanie (Gabriel) Rojas, 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Margarita Ramirez, her brothers Manuel and Alejandro Ramirez and sisters Teresa Ramirez and Margarita (Margie) Moreno.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd.
