Elsie Trottier

September 15, 1909 — February 13, 2008

Elise Lacoursiere Trottier known to her friends as Elsie, was born September 15, 1909 in St Casimir, Quebec Canada, and passed away on February 13, 2008 at the age of 98. She was a resident of El Paso, Texas and member of Blessed Sacrament Church for 36 years and was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Elsie the eighth of ten children was raised in a traditional, loving, French Canadian family. While working in her father’s ice-cream parlor she met a handsome American and they fell in love at first sight. Henry returned to visit her often and they married in June 1931. They lived in New York City where Elsie was employed as housemother for the Flushing Hospital School of Nursing. In 1972, they moved to El Paso to be with family. Elsie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters and brothers. She is survived by her three children; Ruth and son-in-law, Raymond Gibbons, son, Bruce and daughter -in-law, Shizuko and Nancy Trottier. Four grandchildren; Christine Nigida, Raymond Gibbons Jr., Jarrett and Clifford Trottier, three great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of God, family and friends. Our family is thankful for the kindness and loving care provided by the Staff of the Sunshine Home and VNA Hospice. Visitation is from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes–Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, with a vigil/rosary at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast.
