Elizabeth Jean Hyslop

Elizabeth “Dolly” Hyslop, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 6th, 2023.  She was preceded in passing by her father, Guillermo C. Hyslop, her mother, Maria Aun de Hyslop, and brother, Guillermo Hyslop Aún.  

She is survived by her two wonderful and handsome children Edwina and Beck, her wonderful and handsome son-in-law, Towney Burns and her beautiful daughter-in-law, Dr. Ashley Boyd.

Dolly was born in the town of Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, on May of 1933.  She was the second of four siblings: Margarita, Guillermo and Santiago Hyslop Aún.

She graduated from Loretto Academy in 1951 and began her life adventure that traversed Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and most of North America.  

Dolly lived and worked in amazing cities such as New York, San Francisco, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and of course El Paso.

She will forever be remembered as a very beautiful, kind, charitable and fun-loving woman.  Never tiring as a single mother, her children were extremely blessed to have a mother like her.  

Her profession as an interior designer left a mark on countless homes in the United States and Mexico and she will be remembered as one of the greatest in the area.  

Dolly will be greatly missed by countless friends, and a very large extended family who will remember her as “Tia Dolly” and the grand legacy she leaves amongst us all.
