Elizabeth Escandon-Gonzalez

Elizabeth Escandón-Gonzalez 11-18-54 to 11-3-09 Elizabeth Escandón-Gonzalez passed away Tuesday November 3rd after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents Raul and Carmen Escandon and her brother Leonardo. She is survived by her husband Salvador Peter Gonzalez, stepdaughters Edith Gonzalez, Risa Ryti, 6 grandchildren, her brothers Raul Luis, Emilio Gabriel, Ralph Gerard and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was lifelong resident of El Paso, a proud EPHS Tiger, a graduate of UTEP, and Grand Canyon Univ. with an MA. in Education, a pianist, a 1984 recipient of the Mujer Hispana Award, a retired educator, interpreter for the deaf and a member of Temple Beth-Israel. Funeral Services will be officiated by Rabbi Quinn on Friday, Nov. 6 at 10 AM at Sunset Funeral Home West, 480 N. Resler. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Memorial Pines Cemetery, 3061 Memorial Pines Lane, Sunland Park NM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
