Elisa L. Ortiz-Melendez, 48, was called by the Lord on October 12, 2015. Elisa, born May 30, 1967, was born and raised in El Paso, TX. Elisa was a student at Vista College where she was studying to be a licensed vocational nurse. She was employed by Caring Companions Home Health Care. Elisa was preceded in death by her mother, Josefina Macias Ortiz. Left to cherish her memory is her husband; Joe Melendez, Son; Nicholas Adan Ortiz, daughters; Andria R. Ortiz and Stephanie Anne Munoz; Granddaughters; Scarlet Ortiz and Tiffany Rose Duarte; Grandson; Raul Ulises Rivero, her father; Abel Ortiz and step mother; Eva Ortiz. Services for Elisa will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00 pm, with Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 16, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 602 S. Oregon. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragosa.
