Elisa Gomez

Elisa Villalobos Gomez, 87, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011. Born in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on December 14,1923,she was a longtime resident of El Paso, Texas and retired from Union Manufacturing. A devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Elisa was a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement and the Marriage Encounter program. Elisa’s life was one filled with compassion and generosity towards others. Her strength of character and devotion to family will endure in those who knew her. Her last words were of prayer and song to the Lord. “El Señor es mi pastor; nada me falta.” (Psalm 23:1)She is survived by her sister, Carmen Rojas; daughters, Guadalupe, Leticia, Rosa, Evangelina; sons-in-law, Ernesto Cantu, Saul Solis; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul M. Gomez and son-in-law Arturo Hernandez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 PM (Rosary at 7:00 PM) on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home (4631 Hondo Pass). Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
