Edwin Glenn Powers, 84, passed away on Friday, May 11th. Born in Abilene, Texas, January 18, 1923 to a pioneer West Texas family, Glenn spent a lifetime in the brick manufacturing industry, graduating from the University of Texas in Ceramic Engineering. He was known for his absolute integrity and respected by all who knew him. Glenn leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce, four children: Glenn Jr. and wife Karen, Mark, Lisa, Paul and fiancée Lisa, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was a proud veteran of the United States 8th Air Force and met, fell in love with, and married Joyce while serving in England during WWII. His hobby was work. He could not be idle and was always building something: houses, barns, roads, lakes, motor homes and other vehicles. Glenn could do it all - carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, heavy equipment - and he enjoyed most “doing it himself” and “figuring it out”. He was an enthusiastic, loyal friend who loved to visit and brought happiness and sunshine into many, many lives. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home- West, 480 N. Resler, on Tuesday, May 15, from 5-8pm for viewing and fellowship. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- West
