Edward A. Morales

On Thursday, April 3, 2008, Edward A. Morales, Sr., 81, entered into eternal life. He was born on October 13, 1926 in Tecolote NM to Pablita and Salvador, and raised in Carrizozo NM with his 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Edward proudly served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He honorably served in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, The Blinded Veterans Association, The Disabled American Veterans, UTEP Alumni, and an active member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church. He earned his BA in Special Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. Edward was an avid fan of both the UTEP football and basketball programs. He never missed a game in the last 31 years. Edward firmly believed that education is vital to survival, and strongly instilled these beliefs in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a very loving, kind, supportive and generous man; he will be sorely missed by all. Edward is preceded in death by his parents Pablita and Salvador Morales, brothers; Joe, Thomas, Marcos, Conception, Salvador and Filimon; sisters; Lita and Jane. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lupe Morales; son: Edward Morales Jr.; daughters: Dolores Morales, Patricia R. Morales, and Star Morales-Marvel and son-in-law Scott Marvel; brother: Lorenzo Morales; and sisters: Gloria Duarte, Mary Lucero, and Silvia Avila; grandchildren Meagan Morales, Robert Gutierrez, Amber Parker and husband Travis, Theresa Gahl and husband Paul, Kalani Morales and wife Stephanie, Tamara Garcia and husband Rudy; great-grandchildren Keyana, McKenzie, Tyler, Neelah, Mykai, Kiara, Kayla, Keoni and Malia. Visitation: 5:00 to 9:00 PM, Monday & Tuesday, April 7 & 8, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast with a vigil at 7:00 PM, Tuesday April 8, 2008. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church. Interment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
