Eduardo A. Najera

Eduardo “Eddie” Najera, 77 of El Paso passed away Tuesday August 28th surrounded by his loving family. Eddie was a graduate of El Paso High School and worked many years at Lone Star Electric. He had a lifelong love of animals and was an avid gardener in his later years. In retirement, Eddie & his wife Carmen were active parishoners at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He was a member of the Carmilitas and Guadalupanas. Eddie is survived by his wife of 46 years Carmen C. Najera, children Andrew Najera (Megan), Cecilia Serna (Pablo), Claudia Duron (Julio); grandchildren Olivia, Ellis, Mari, Teri, Cati, Bella, Paloma, Andres, Sophia, Carlos, Jaquelyne, Julian and Christian and siblings Richard Najera (Liz), Armida Reyes (Joe). Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Margarita A. and Eduardo S. Najera. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the gentle care during Eddie’s last days by the CCU staff at SPMC, and Drs Garcia, Rodarte, Ramirez, and Antoni. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, Friday, August 31,2012. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10am Saturday, Sept.1 2012. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Eddie was a devoted husband and father and will be missed by many.
