Edna Mae Young

Edna Mae Young passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 after a long illness. Edna was born on August 29, 1928 to Vernie A. and Ana Marie Stembridge in EI Paso Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Robert and daughters Marcy Lorraine and Deborah Jean. She is survived by her sons John M. (Teresa), Daniel J. (Teri) and James R. Young (Susie) and grandchildren John M. Jr., Shannon A., Mary E., Margaret Y., Melinda A., Marcia L. and Zachary J. Young and one great grandson Joseph M. Young and numerous nephews and nieces. Edna graduated from EI Paso High School. She retired from the EI Paso Natural Gas Company after thirty-two years of service as an Executive Secretary. Edna was a member of the International Training in Communication (ITC) and served as past President of the Blue Flame Club and Turquoise Council. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m Thursday, October 18,2007 at Sunset Funeral Home, West with the Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 19,2007 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Internment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zachary Young, Ron Smith, Richard Peinado, Ryan McCrory, Mark Allison and Rick Mena. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Angelos and Shane Talbert. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the EI Paso Humane Society or your favorite church or charity.
