Dr. Lynn Edward Healy

Dr. Lynn Edward “Patrick” Healy peacefully passed away at his home in El Paso, Texas on November 3, 2016. Dr. Healy was born in Boone, Iowa on April 12, 1929 to Dr. Maurice Arthur Healy and Mabel Grace Hamilton. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was married to the love of his life, Beverly Marie Doran for 65 years before her passing in 2014. Dr. Healy earned his bachelor’s and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Iowa. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, then practiced dentistry in El Paso until retirement. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and pilot throughout his life. A true optimist and all around wonderful guy, the world was a better place with him in it. Dr. Healy was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Maurice Healy, and sister, Kathryn Yegge. He is survived by his five adoring children, James (Sandra), Dr. Elizabeth McAlister, Dennis (Alline), Viginia Hovel (William), and Mary Mason (James Monnig). Also his twelve grandchildren, Dr. Kathryn Schmit (Chistopher), Laura Healy, Jake McAlister (Toffee), Dr. Travis McAlister (Ann), Kent McAlister (Gretchen), Patrick Healy (Rosemary), Benjamin Healy (Rachel), Emily Richardson (Chad), Natalie Blackwell (Corbin), Lindsay Hovel, Maggie Cannon (Jack), and Justin Mason. Sixteen great grandchildren, Anna, Joseph, Luke, Sophia, Michael, David, Rhodes, English, Campbell, Wynn, Kyle, William, Caroline, Fiona, Emory and Bennett. Also numerous nieces and nephews. A big thank you to his caregivers, Jorge, Belle, Isidro, Emma, Jennifer, and Arlene. So happy you and Mom are reunited in Heaven – see you there. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th St, Boone, Iowa. Funeral Mass: 10:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 915 12th St. Committal Service to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
