Dorothy M. Young

Dorothy M. Young was born August 22, 1942 to the late Mary and Charles Talton who preceded her in death. Following sudden illness, God called Dot home on May 16, 2020 with her husband by her side. Dot was employed and retired from Ysleta Independent School District with over 25 years of service. She served at many schools in the district with the last 11 years at Parkland High School. She really loved teaching and working with the students at all levels. She retired May 1997. On November 22, 1981, She was united in matrimony to Willie L. Young and was a faithful and loving wife. Dot loved the Lord and gospel music. She worshipped at Centurion Chapel #4, Ft Bliss, TX, where she was a member of the Ladies Chorus for- many years until she joined Fellowship of Love Christian Center. Dot served the State and community in many ways she was installed as the First Grand Worthy Matron of Norris Wright Cuney Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Stars of Texas and Its Jurisdiction on November 9, 1996. She also served in El Paso as the Worthy Matron of Progressive Chapter# 252, Magnolia Court Heroines of Jericho #28, Alton-Kennedy Guild, Past Commandress of Oro Court #20, Past Loyal Lady Ruler of Rio Grande Assembly #24 Order of the Golden Circle. Left to cherish her memories is her Husband: Willie J, Son: James Kwame, Sister: Wanda Miller (El Paso), Aunt: Mattie Brown (El Paso), Stepfather: George Williams (El Paso) and a host of Nephews, Nieces, cousins and friends. Dot will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She had a passion for cooking and helping others. She really loved seeing people enjoying her food. Dorothy M. Young, 77, Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, Monday, May 25, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass.
